how do u make skins?

ive always wanted to know how to do this, but i cant find what to download or anything.

can anyone help me out?

magical skin fairies magicallly make ur skins appear

1. You need quite a bit of computer knowledge already.

2. You need these programs:

GCFScape (requires .net framework)
VTFEdit
GimpShop

They are all free.

Ok here we go....

1. Open up your counterstrikesourceshared.gcf
2. Open up a default model in VTFedit you would like to edit
3. Export it to your desktop as a .tga.
4. Open Gimpshop.
5. Click File, Open, then locate your .tga (ex. rif_m4a1) on your desktop.
6. Edit the skin how you want.
(Ex. open up the layers, channels and paths menu, select a layer, and overlay it onto the weapon.)
7. Save the skin as the same normal 1 you started out with, except convert it to a vtf file.
8. Extract the skin to your cstrike folder, and voiula!
You are done!
